Milgo Foundation is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to advancing sustainable development, cultural preservation, education, healthcare, and community resilience in the Sool and Sanaag regions of Northeastern Somalia. Through long-term partnerships with communities, governments, and international organisations, the Foundation designs, develops, and supports initiatives that create lasting social, cultural, and economic impact while preserving the region's rich heritage.
Milgo — “horizon” in Somali — was established on a simple observation: in the Sool and Sanaag regions, capable projects are common and durable institutions are rare. Work is funded in cycles, delivered by temporary teams, and discontinued when a cycle ends.
The Foundation was created to hold the part that normally disappears — governance, custody, record-keeping and continuity — so that the institutions it supports can outlast the people and the funding that started them. It is dual-based between the United Kingdom and Las Anod, Somalia.
Milgo builds slowly and states only what is settled. Where something is planned, it is described as planned; where it is in development, it says so.
A Northeastern Somalia served by permanent, accountable institutions — where development, heritage, education and health are held by bodies that endure across generations rather than funding cycles.

Governance sits above delivery and is never merged with it. The Foundation holds stewardship, capital custody and external representation; the institutions it supports hold their own operations, boards and executive teams.
Milgo Foundation is an international non-governmental organisation, with registration in progress in Somalia. Its headquarters are in London, United Kingdom, with a regional office in Las Anod, Somalia. Annual reporting will be published from the first full financial year, and external audit appointed before any third-party capital is held.
